Restrictive requirements for toy exports to Indonesia

in Indonesia

Trade barrier summary

Toys made outside of Indonesia need an official goods registration letter (SPB) to enter the market.

Other restrictive measures that have been in place since 2014, include:

- prohibiting domestic sale or toy manufacturing that does not comply with the national standard
- restrictive and discriminatory certification and marking requirements, with frequent product testing requirements
- restrictions on which laboratories are authorised to conduct toy testing

In 2018 however, Indonesia adopted a regulation which allows auditing of factories and the production process (called 'Scheme 5) rather than every shipment.
