Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has created a separate price negotiation category for original brand-name medications with expired patents (off-patent originators (OPOs)).

This will now enable British pharmaceutical products with expired patents to go through a fairer price negotiation process for public procurement. This will provide greater opportunities for UK businesses to sell OPOs in Vietnam.
