Poland opened energy drink labelling rules to consultation
in PolandTrade barrier summary
Poland introduced new rules for energy drinks, including labelling requirements and sales restrictions. UK businesses questioned the necessity and proportionality of the measure.
Following engagement by the UK government and other international partners, the Polish government notified the draft amendment through the EU Technical Regulations Information System (TRIS) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). This opened the measure to international scrutiny and provided a formal mechanism for businesses and trading partners to raise concerns through the notification process.
This means businesses and trading partners had an opportunity to review the proposal and raise comments on its impact.
