Trade barrier summary

Following the UK’s departure from the EU, Scotch whisky was incorrectly registered as an EU GI in Guatemala. Due to the cooperation between the UK government and Guatemalan officials, the issue has been addressed. Scotch whisky is now correctly registered as a UK GI, aligning with the UK–Central America association agreement.

Amending this issue means that Scotch whisky will have protection from imitation and infringement in Guatemala.
