Certification requirements lifted for specialised soil exports to the United Arab Emirates
in United Arab EmiratesTrade barrier summary
UK exporters were not able to export specialised soil for cricket pitches into the UAE due to the requirement to hold a phytosanitary certificate.
The soil contains no plant product so it is therefore not applicable. The British Embassy Dubai submitted a letter to the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) confirming that the soil will only be used for cricket pitches.
As a result, MOCCAE confirmed that an import permit has been granted for the export of this type of soil.
