Trade barrier summary

The Belgian Food Safety and Inspection Services has confirmed that UK goods moving on to other EU countries will not require an additional SPS check if they have been released from an EU customs department. Previously, SPS checks on UK goods could also be carried out at the point of arrival in Belgium.

There will only be a need to carry out an additional check at the end destination if the shipment is split when being transported further within the EU.
