Banking licence restrictions affecting UK exporters/investors in Morocco
in MoroccoTrade barrier summary
The banking sector in Morocco is reasonably competitive, with a number of national financial institutions with international footprints, as well as several subsidiaries of foreign banks. However, the Central Bank - Bank Al Maghrib - has stopped issuing permits for credit banks, protecting existing banking institutions. A possible exception to this is if banks can provide assurance of their added value to Morocco.
