Animal health certification updated to support smoother exports of UK racehorses to Japan
in JapanTrade barrier summary
Japan’s government updated its animal health requirements in March 2022. The UK’s export health certificate (EHC) no longer met Japan’s new conditions, resulting in additional documentation requirements for all racehorse exports.
The UK government has now resolved the issue by updating EHC 3232 to align with Japan’s requirements. This now allows for the smoother trade of UK racehorses in Japan.
