Trade barrier summary

Discretionary import licences are required for worked monumental and building stones, such as cut and polished marble and granite.

Importers must obtain pre-authorisation from the Thai Ministry of Commerce and importation is only authorised for the quantity needed for specified construction projects. Cut and polished stones cannot be imported for other purposes, eg kitchen counters or furniture.
