This affects UK exports of fresh and raw pork to Malaysia. Exports of fresh and raw pork to Malaysia require the Malaysian Department of Veterinary Service to approve the country's risk assessment questionnaire. This is a one off approval process and takes a maximum of 2 years for the questionnaire to be approved. If the assessment is satisfactory and risk is low, it will take another 6 to 18 months for adequacy audit, site inspection and import permit to be approved.
