Import licences approved for UK exporters of neutral spirits to Angola

in Angola

Trade barrier summary

Previously, UK exporters were having issues obtaining licences for neutral spirits. Following UK government engagement, this issue is now resolved and UK exports to Angola can continue.

Neutral spirits are a highly concentrated and purified form of ethanol that has been distilled to remove its original flavours and aromas. This process results in a ‘blank canvas’ for various uses, typically 95% alcohol by volume (190 proof) or higher. They are used as a base for producing other spirits like vodka and gin, or for blending with other alcoholic beverages. Neutral spirits can be made from grains, molasses, potatoes or other fermentable materials.
