Simplified registration procedure for salmon and trout in Argentina
in ArgentinaTrade barrier summary
Argentina’s authorities previously required food imports from the UK, including salmon and trout, to be listed in its Food Code. The procedure for this was lengthy and unclear.
Argentina’s government has now published Decree 35/2025, which has simplified the process for importers of salmon and trout. A sworn declaration is required rather than the traditional register in the Food Code. This facilitates a streamlined process for UK businesses exporting these products to Argentina.
