UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural affairs is currently engaged with Indian Department for Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) to complete the process of recognition for the 'GB Compartmentalisation Scheme' having reached it in principle. Recognition of this scheme will mean that poultry exports from all parts of the UK will not be affected if an avian influenza or other communicable diseases outbreak occurs which can be controlled by strict outbreak control measures.
