in Brazil

Trade barrier summary

Regulations restricted occassional reinsurers, including UK insurers, to being able to access only 10% of the Brazilian insurance market. Admitted insurers were able to access a larger share of the Brazilian market.

Resolution of this issue benefits UK businesses acting as occasional reinsurers in Brazil as there is no longer a formal differentiation between admitted and occasional reinsurers.
