Import registration and testing of non-pharmaceutical vitamins and wellbeing products

in Qatar

Trade barrier summary

To register a vitamin product in Qatar a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate is required. GMP is a standard used by the pharmaceutical industry so unless the vitamin is made by a company that also makes pharmaceutical goods, they will not have this certificate. BRC is the global food standard set out by the British Retail Consortium. It is currently used in over 100 countries worldwide. In Qatar the vitamins are subject to the same scrutiny as pharmaceutical products and therefore each product has to go through a rigorous testing programme.
