Deposit return scheme clarified for UK beverage producers in Poland
in PolandTrade barrier summary
Poland introduced a deposit return scheme for beverage containers in 2025, creating new compliance requirements for businesses supplying drinks to the market.
Following industry feedback, the Polish government has clarified how the system would operate and made adjustments to support implementation. This has given businesses greater certainty over how the scheme will operate.
As a result:
- UK businesses can continue supplying beverage products to Poland under the new system
- clearer rules have reduced uncertainty for producers and importers
- strong consumer uptake has helped minimise disruption to beverage sales
