UK businesses trying to bid for contracts for the Paris 2024 Olympics are facing a number of challenges:
(i) Lack of transparency about procurement opportunities.
(ii) Information is not consistently available even when it is publicised.
(iii) Smaller offers - falling below the price ceiling set by the French Olympic Committee - are not publicised, and so UK companies wanting to offer their services as subcontractors do not have the necessary information about which company won which contract.
(iv) Businesses bidding need to enter a French phone number into the platform in order to proceed with their bids.
